Reflections is the new single from South London producer, drummer and DJ Hector Plimmer. The track continues Hector’s explorations into up-tempo electronic music. “I was trying to explore a theme of open space in this track. Slowly changing and building. It features a field recording of sailboat lines rattling against their masts in the wind in Whitstable. Some Seagulls snuck in there too. The piano is processed through a fragmented loop, feeding back on itself and modulating in pitch and distortion while the drums carry it through”. Reflections is the first new single since his electronic/ambient EP Duality was released on his new Power In Comfort imprint in August last year.

There is an element of freedom and exploration as the melodies develop and intertwine. An electronic bed of evolving noise creates ongoing movement throughout the track, fading in and out like the constant pull and push of the sea. All building to a joyful peak of interlocking melodies and rhythms working together as one.

Hector Plimmer has made a name for himself creating enticing melodies and arrangements intertwined with lovingly crafted precision-engineered percussion that showcase, as Crack Magazine complemented, “his spirit of exploration”. Hector’s developed contrast of organic and electronic sounds and this spirit of play contributes to the fun and free flowing nature of the track.
