Sustainable / New Jersey Sound is the latest offering from Glasgow alt-rockers Dutch Wine in the form of a double a-side release.
Showcasing a fast-paced and explosive sound combined with polished pop melodies, this new release sees the band draw inspiration from icons such as Nirvana, The Cribs and Pixies.
Returning to a remote studio in the North of Scotland where they recorded their debut EP, the band fed off their powerful live performance to capture the same energy in a recorded setting. Singer Calvin Smith says “I feel so much of what we’re about is present in our live performance, so it always makes sense that we try and emulate that as much as possible. Playing the songs at full volume in a tiny room together helps us all get on the same wave-length and really understand what the song is communicating.”
“Both these songs were born under the expectation that they would get you moving and grab your attention from the get-go. They’re just pure pop rock tunes at the end of the day.”
The band kicked off the year with a sold out headline show at Hug and Pint following the release of their debut EP, and intend to keep up the momentum and buzz surrounding them with this new release.
Sustainable / New Jersey Sound is released 31st May via Gold Mold Records.
