Berlin-based Curses makes dark, romantic, cinematic New Wave, threading the visceral connection between 1980’s inspired Goth and melancholic post-punk to the DIY energy of early electronic body music. Having just signed to Italians Do It Better, Curses is today sharing new single "Elegant Death".

On the new track, Curses said: "Elegant death. Death has a looming, dark reputation, it’s always there, but embracing the elegance in its romantic ceremony, and aesthetic of funerals in Italy is something that has always captured me. Especially being raised half Italian between NYC and Sicily.  There is a beauty in the legacy of a person’s story that death leaves behind. The power of a new chapter, shedding old skin to discover a new.  

In the last few years, I’ve had to face the reality that all of us eventually die. I’ve lost many friends, family members have passed, and overcoming the fear of death has allowed me to appreciate the present, the importance of now, creating life memories through music, to be remembered beyond when that time comes to eventually say goodbye."

With 2 full length albums on Dischi Autunno, Curses has also released a limited edition LP on Paris fashion brand, Saint Laurent, and original music in video campaigns for Dior, and Raf Simons/Calvin Klein. A new album is due out later this year via legendary synth label Italians Do It Better, soaked in the signature Curses’ ghostly guitars and haunting vocals.

Curses has also released on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records, and Wrong Era, and is responsible for curating the vinyl compilation series, NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX, Via Belgian powerhouse, N.E.W.S, showcasing a passion for New Beat, Early EBM, Post-punk and obscure Italo which gained critical acclaim worldwide. 

Live, Curses has shared the stage with artists such as, Nitzer Ebb, Alessandro Cortisi, Charlotte Adigery, Robert Görl, Tempers, Blind Delon, Zanias, Years of Denial and many more. Curses is set to play a run of worldwide tour dates throughout the rest of this year, which will include both live shows & DJ sets.
