Taken from new album ‘Wetlands’ due 2023
Dublin based electronic / pop composer / singer-songwriter Christian Cohle is pleased to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Another Life’, lifted from the upcoming album ‘Wetlands’ due in 2023.
Drawing on a myriad of influences from lo-fi electronics, alt-pop and jazzy-soul, ‘Another Life’ blends vocal versatility and offbeat charm; coupled with a visually stunning, noir-like music video, with fleeting nods into surrealism and an expansive array of visual techniques.
"Another Life to me is about love and time,” Cohle shares. "While making the track itself I had this idea of creating an acapella but pitching, bending and making my voice sound so gnarly and disconnected until it became something else. It allowed me to connect with the song in a really profound way, by getting out of my own way with it. I was also listening to Yves Tumor’s, Safe In The Hands of Love at the time, which I think had a part to play too in inspiring the energy of Another Life.”
Named top artist on the rise and Ireland’s best kept secret by leading UK outlet The Line of Best Fit.
Influenced by east and west Cohle's evocative and atmospheric electronica gives off something of a Blade-Runner vibe. With a passion for cinema and all things dark and moody, it's no surprise his music has been described as visceral and cinematic in its approach. The vulnerability and soul that he carries in his voice, intensifies the experience further. His lyrics, intensely personal, often hang partially obscured in poetic allusions and dreamscape imagery, all adding to this accomplished aesthetic he creates.
His music has been selected for a number of curated playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, in the electronic/indie space. Championed by many publications: Earmilk, CLASH , NOTION, Line of Best Fit and more.
