a gripping shoegaze number that drifts like a fog, visible only in the distance even while standing directly at its heart.” Hard of Hearing Proponents of loud, engulfing shoegaze-rock, London Trio Adele Dazeem share expansive new single ‘Meridian Water’ - out today (30th April) via London indie label Dilettante Records. A sizzling melting pot of classic influences - from the gothic post-punk of Interpol to the swirling euphoria of Slowdive - the band’s third release in six months is also their most mature and considered work to date. Produced by Rory Atwell (Palma Violets, TRAAMS, Childhood), ‘Meridian Water’ takes a pearlescent deep dive into immersive shoegaze dreamstates; Dam-burst guitars, crashing drums and bittersweet melodies abound across this shimmering exploration of emotional intimacy and candid communication, as the band explain: “The three of us were out together late one night and ended up at the train station Meridian Water. We were struck by the imagery of the name, it fit perfectly with the essence of the track we were working on at the time. The song itself is a reflection of the lightness and connection that emerges from vulnerable conversations with those we love." Naming themselves after John Travolta’s infamous Oscars’ faux pas, Adele Dazeem formed in 2020 in East London during the pits of lockdown. Having barely played a live show, the band honed their explosive shoegaze sound during multiple self-imposed writing retreats to residential studios in the remote corners of Snowdonia and Western Scotland, finally releasing their debut single in late 2023. Now gigging regularly on the London grassroots circuit, Adele Dazeem will hold their biggest headline show to date at New River Studios in North London on 1st May Adele Dazeem are: Charlie Hearl - Guitar & Vocals Phil O’Connor - Bass Frank Andrews - Drums |
